Is faith compatible with science or reality?
Do you think you have to forego rational thinking to have faith?
Do you have faith based on reason?
If science contradicts scripture, which then do you accept?
Can you have faith and also accept science? e.g. Can you accept evolution if it goes against scripture?
When a Muslim tells you that Mohommad flew to heaven on a winged horse, is this based on reason/science?

The knowledge from the bible could have come from any intelligent bronze age rabbi of its time.
so, what you are now saying is those "intelligent bronze age rabbi" knew that the earth was a sphere and knew about germs and microbes 5,000 years before western medicine discovered it - OK. I wonder where they leaned it?
Seriously, open your eyes. My eyes are open - are yours? First you claim that Genesis is consistent with known science and doesn't contradict it one bit. It is consistent as far as I can see. - tell me where it differs. I have just shown you that Genesis doesn't get anything right. Where did you show me that?
Why do you keep claiming that the bible is a science book I have never claimed the Bible is a science book - in fact I said as much in my previous post. Do you read my posts?
Tell me one thing that the information in the bible has been used to advance scientific knowledge in the say last 500yrs? That's all I'm after. I already told you one thing - IF the Doctors had taken the Bible's advice on cleanliness it would have saved hundreds of lives - and that's in the last 100 years.
Anyway, don't upset yourself Bob. If I thought that it would make ANY DIFFERENCE TO YOUR BELIEFS I would take the time to give you more examples - but you have your mind SET and obviously will not change no matter how many examples I give you.
Now, back to the OP - Yes, Faith IS Compatible with Reason - well, mine is anyway.

Here is a question for you bob
If we are to take science as law& that neither god nor science can exist side by side how would you fill the gaps in both?
Both have very large gaps
Even evolution has a gap that has as of yet to be filled .
The evolution of man is supposed to be that we descended from apes yet science has never been able to find the missing link that true
Y binds man to ape how do you as as agree thinker and a rational mind except that gap , when we have evidence of other life forms dating back millions of years right back to single called organisms yet there is not 1 surviving fossil of the evolutionary leap that we as man made from ape to human, we have evidence of two distinct species of man but neither can be traced back to the jump from ape
If you're saying science doesn't know everything. Sure, we don't know very much. THat's what drives science. When science doesn't know, it says it doesn't know. I don't know is a legitimate answer.
Saying God did it has no explanatory value. How did the universe arise? GOd did it and it has to be the Christian or muslim God. Unless you can explain GOd, why bother.
Have you actually studied evolution. Ofcourse there're gaps in evolution but it's a fact it happens. They might disagree on the mechanism of evolution however natural selection is pretty much accepted.
Aren't you an educator? Surely you should know about the evolution of man. Every fossils we have found are transitional forms. e.g. Austropithecus, Homo Erectus, Habilis etc etc are all examples of missing links.
I really don't get your points, any of it. Try rephrasing it again.

BTW I never said science and God cannot exist side by side.
Out of curiosity, what's your definition of GOd?
