🙂
Ask yourself what religion contributes to society TODAY. How will the world change without religion?

I think yes..... for example: I have been involved in looking at nursing homes recently....... all the well run, nicer ones are run/owned by Religious Groups, Catholic, Uniting Church, Brethren, to name some. They are not for profit and give some really great support to residents (and families)
How is that the result of religion? Unless you can show religious organization have better management and logistics?

It is because they have the ability to put their social conscience above their quest for the almighty $? I would think.

**of_bob_and_men** being a self-proclaimed Christian yourself what contributions do you do for society? And what contributions do you see religion doing for society?

No, I did not say that.
It is an inherent part of Religion...... the social justice part....
I don't need to prove it.

Sure let's look at the evidence. THe social justice part of religion.
Thou shall not work on the Sabbeth. What did the bible command? stone him to death.
THou shall stone adulters, homosexuals unruly kids. etc etc,
or shall I go to the Koran God/Allah.
You're right, this would always be inherent in religion. Religion believes in absolute morality. That is so dangerous in reality.
Are you telling me you want to believe Religion is a force for good on faith because you don't think you can defend it?

I am not playing your game Bob.
I will say that I believe people might be more likely to learn charity/giving/social justice from their Church etc....... than if they are not part of one.

Yes you "believe." The mom who drowned her two kids "believed" God told her to do it.
You have to do better than that argument.
But let's look at it logically. Which is more admirable? Someone who wanted to help other humans and do good because they choose to do it and because they care about their fellow human being or someone that only do good or give to charity because they don't want to go to hell and thinks he/she is being watched?

:^O I don't have to do anything.
I know. If I say I know, you will ask for proof.... if I say I believe, it has to be because I am scared I will go to hell?
Just google, Bob.......
