A good tongue-in-cheek reply would probably run along the lines of an argument that a measure of the decline in "gentlemens' magazines" versus the rise in publications aimed at the ladies' market would be proof enough of society's obvious repressive sexist attitude towards men.
What a pity it is that I don't possess the skills to write a parody piece that cleverly.

Where is the most money to be made?
Is it easier to appeal to the fears and insecurities of women or of men where the marketing and sales of products is concerned?
Some women won't even leave their house if they are not wearing appropriate makeup.
Why is that?
Some men think their dicks will fall off if they drive anything less than a V6 or V8 gas-guzzler muscle car.
Predators pursue the young and the weak and the halt and the lame. It's the easiest (more profitable) route.
Bob . . . you have asked a rhetorical question but I'll be the mug and answer it.
Society exploits sexism in order to make money from every last person who experiences the thought that women are objects to be exploited and that men are ripe for exploitation because of their desire to exploit the women.
It's a tangled web they weave.
