Is this singlet RACIST

Looks like yet another storm in a  tea cup from the easily offended no sense of humour and we hate Australia mob

This Singlet and T-shirt has been available for a number of years on the web, on eBay and in many shops around the country until some super sensitive poonce from Canberra on an end of season  footy trip to Cairns with his team  decided to get himself all offended and post a pic etc and then the usual easily we hate Australia types all jumped on it  (seems some ACT AFL players are over sensitive)

So is this RACIST or simply a singlet that’s says you are proud to be Australian and  if you don’t like it here leave.

I guess I'll just leave this one as a mystery to me. It makes me think of the scene Lou's basement from Fight Club. "I'm still not getting it, "bash"...I'm getting it now...No I lost it again". lol.

But if someone here (edit: Here, as in the US) was offended by me wearing our version of that shirt...I'd like to offend them further by offering to pay for a one way ticket to elsewhere!

It says much about this issue that almost every comment on the Woolies FB site mention halal product as an issue also at the same time as complaining about the withdrawal of the tshirt.

What does that tell you?

It tells me that the Tshirts message is being read in a certain way about a certain 'race' and that it has everything to do with the political climate in this country at the moment.

Some typical responses on FB:

You promote Ramadan Easter Christmas and pay a tax for halal certification yet stocking a t shirt that's not offensive whatsoever will not be re stocked due to the minority who are trying to change Australia's values?

It would seem woolworths is not out to support Aussies, seeing they now have halal meat too !

If your going to pull the shirt off pull all your Halal Products that are offensive to Australians. Cant have it both ways you either support Australia or you dont

yet you allow halal certified food.. how is that respectful to us non muslims....

Plus a few hundred more sprouting the same garbage.

But apparently only the enlightened ones on CS see it as a separate issue that has nothing to do with racism and therefore find the tshirt perfectly acceptable on it's own merits.

For whilst everyone else is beating around the bush and feeling too embaressed to make the connection with the currently political climate by making excuses and saying "This Tshirt has nothing to do with race!!", along comes bushie and spells out exactly why the tshirt has been, rightly, removed from the shelves.

Not to mention that she just fell into the old mantra of accusing anyone (when all else fails) of supporting the atrocities of extremists.
