I can't believe how quiet it is here. I remember years ago we predicted that the board would one day have so few members left that it would end up like this. At the time it seemed almost ridiculous.

I've always thought that (above) smiley to be somewaht out of place and inappropriate. It's supposed to be a LoL but it looks to me like it expresses schadenfreude; a sort of gloating evil glee.

Hahaha. yes, I still have a copy of that and I'm intrigued by the thesis of the "classic-romantic split". It's a great book.

maybe I need to read it again with special reference to that argument about Quality.

that's another thing about this newish board structure. We have our words nannied for us so as not to offend the more sensitive and wussy folks. try it sometime. it's almost impossible to use swear words or even some non-swear words unless a foreign word is used. Merde!

I found that out when I sent a pm and it replaced my swear word with bleep. It made me laugh. lol
