Sharks unsettle me, even when I know they are but a tale to be told. It is well documented however that some sharks play dead to avoid predators. Shark experts warn though, that such sharks remain dangerous and provide advice on precautions:
โIf you do encounter a shark despite these precautions, the best thing to do, according to the University of Floridaโs international shark attack file, is โleave the water โ swim quickly but smoothlyโ, ideally with someone else so you donโt become a solitary targetโ.

โIt may sound ridiculously obvious, but when people want to experience the ultimate experience on the waves, common sense goes out the window. Put simply, don't swim with shark food. Where there are fish, there could be sharks and sharks eat fishโ.
