Nosey cleaning staff!

100% agree...

a certain amount of discretion is always advised on the job. I only ever reported one person and that was because he had a huge amount of child exploitation material open on the table... he was arrested...

everything else I let slip, so long as the room was respected you ignored it.

HE was never far from trouble and the police were never far behind.

Yet when he was handed a juvenile jail sentence of 12 months for possessing hardly more than a gram of marijuana with a street value of about $10, Laurence Boney, then 17, was stunned.

"I felt angry, like I wanted to get up and throw something at the judge," says Boney, from Dubbo in NSW's central west.

"I know he's trying to protect all the people in the community and that, I just felt real angry when he gave me the sentence. I felt like banging my head against the wall."

Boney lives in Alcheringa Street in West Dubbo, a crime hotspot according to local police. All the homes in the street are housing commission.

One local told The Weekend Australian that after dark, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights, the area was chaotic and a "no-go zone".

Lol I know the Boney family. How? They live on the same street that i grew up on. My dad still lives on that street. It is not a crime hot spot at all. About half the houses in the street are housing commission. The other half are owner occupied mostly by elderly people. The area is not chaotic and a "no-go" zone on any night.

The story is a complete load of bull dust.

The Boney's are well known trouble. This article is just making up lies to make excuses for a thug.

This hotel (5 Star) may have different rules for staff, than where you worked.

The staff may be required to report any signs of drug use there.

I presume it was hotel administration that called the police.

Young Offenders Act 1997 - Drug Amendments - NSW

(10-18 yo's)

Decisions made by the police in relation to the Act will depend on the
young person, their criminal record and the seriousness of the offence.

Cannabis Cautioning Scheme
On 3 April 2000, the NSW Government introduced the Cannabis Cautioning Scheme.
Under this scheme, police can issue a caution to adults in possession of up to 15g of cannabis leaf (about enough for 15-25 joints).

A Caution provides a warning of the health and legal consequences of using cannabis and information on where to seek treatment.

This scheme does not mean that cannabis is now legal or decriminalised. Rather that police have the discretion to issue a caution for small amounts of cannabis. At all times police retain the option of charging people for these offences.

Add this onto the last post:

Under this scheme a person can receive the benefit of only two cautions.

I did hear on the news that Seal had a bit of an outburst about it all on twitter. iMO he shouldn't  have done that because all he's done is draw more attention to it. I had a look but it's all been deleted.
