WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has announced that he will be leaving the Ecuadorean embassy "soon", ending a two year period of political asylum.
Mr Assange acknowledged that he had developed difficulties with his health during his period at the embassy, however would not link these medical issues with his decision to leave the building.
Mr Assange again denied all accusations of rape in this evening's press conference, saying "the claims that women in Sweden have accused me of serious offences, of rape, are false."
"I have not been charged with an offence here in the United Kingdom, or Sweden, at any time," he said.
Ecuadorean Foreign Minister Ricarod Patino said that his government would continue to work with other nations to secure safe passage for Mr Assange.
He also said that representatives from the Ecuadorean government would meet with the UK Foreign Office to discuss Mr Assange's case.
"It is time to free Julian Assange... It's time for his human rights to be finally respected," Mr Patino said.
His physical problems may have come as a result of his confinement, with The Mail on Sunday claiming that a severe Vitamin D deficiency contributing to his illness.
The British Foreign Office apparently turned down the Ecuadorean government’s request to take him to hospital, allegedly saying that leaving the building would forfeit Mr Assange’s diplomatic protection.

No way he'll be allowed to go free. Wouldn't surprise me if he had an unfortunate "accident" or died of complications to his current condition.

If the charges are fake why doesnt he stand by his convictions and face the courts in Sweden....Assange has no convictions or ethics or a moral backbone and I have no time for him at all and hope that he is arrested and faces the rape charges, if he is innocent then let the courts decide
Your post would be funny if I thought you were serious. But you can't be.
I am serious.. very serious...
Julian Assange has thrown away all his moral advantage. After exhaustive and wholly transparent legal procedures, the British courts ordered his extradition to Sweden, where he faces two sex charges, one of rape and one of molestation.
Sweden is a neutral country which is in no sense a pawn of the United States, and scarcely even an ally. Moreover, its courts are as free and unbiased as any in the world. If a man can’t get a fair trial in Sweden, he can’t get one anywhere.
Mr Assange’s refusal to face trial there — on the apparent grounds that he might be spirited away by the American authorities — is both disingenuous and unconvincing.
It smacks of moral cowardice.
Sweden has sweet FA to do with Assange's difficulties. But I think you know this very well.
