Well, not me personally but my pa used to wear ex-military khaki (Woollen) for his gardening clothes that had buttons.
He also wore longjohns - only ever saw them on the wash line.

I had Lee jeans with a button fly in the 70's. My chidren wore the 501's with the button up fly and darns all over!

The high waisted flares in the late 60's had buttons too, bought them from the IN SHOPPE. No muffin tops in those days - that I can remember. The dressing room was just that. One large room.

They were called 501's werent they?
*shrugs* Possibly. I never had much branded clothing, especially jeans, which were quite expensive, apart from a mint op shop find, skinny black Levis probably from the very early '80s, wore them to absolute death. I did save up for a pair of button flys from Just Jeans and had a couple of pairs of Kmart knock-offs.
