Keeping calm and getting on with it...

It's only Wednesday and we've had the long weekend here in NSW, school holidays have started this week and the cars are here to do their race around Mt Panarama , Bathurst, at high speeds!!

And it's raining...

I, for one, am not complaining. I love race week here in town. I only do mental eye rolling if someone is trying to explain the difference between Holdens  and Fords. As a non-driver, as far as I am concerned, both cars have the same amount of tyres and both can speed around the mountain at heart attack speeds!!

I only hope there are no major accidents on the mountain...dingles and breakdowns are ok providing the drivers are ok.

May Craig Lowndes win this year as it is his last time around Mt Panarama.

for me the Great Race stopped being great when the cars stopped being actual cars you could buy.

these stupid things they 'race' today are just techno garbage!

same as F1 cars.

go back to real cars with real drivers having to actually drive the darn cars.

the only bits i can see that are actually from a commodore or a falcon are the mirrors and door handles!

everything else is fake.

Yes, they are a different breed of car these days. Speed, speed and then some seems to be the order of the day.
Problem is, the ordinary driver thinks the normal road is to do up to 300kph with the regular car.
I get to hear the cars revving around the town with the police sirens not far behind them...LOL!

It's the last year I'll be watching.
Even though the cars are nothing like the road car under the fibreglass panels I was still interested due to them being Australian.
Now we don't make cars any more I've lost all interest and will be just enjoying racing my slot cars now.

Why does everyone hate electric cars.
I drove the Glenelg tram for years.
Electric vehicles will be excellent. Fuel fumes make me feel sick let alone exhaust emissions.
Most electric cars return about five hundred kilometres for three dollars of electricity.
No oil changes. No gearbox. No risk of a timing belt letting go and totally destroying your motor.
No stupid P platers roaring up and down the street in noisy V8's. The older I get the more I hate engine noise.
No queuing at fuel stations. Can be charged at home while you are asleep. No one harassing you to buy a chocolate bar when you pay for fuel. Definitely won't miss that.

Driverless cars perhaps??
Still will need the support teams though... mechanics for example.
Our rescue helicopters will only need to collect the car accident victims from the highways.

i dont mind electric cars, id have one now if i could afford it.

but, you know the govt is trying to figure out how to make the owners pay a tax to put em on the road dont you?

no fuel no fuel tax going into the govt coffers! cant have that.

they killed the LPG system by sticking a tax on the gas.
