Considering incest between consenting adults within the same family grouping was and is known to enhance and increase genetic defects in offspring, it has been made illegal in most civilised countries for many, many years. So not only is it unlawful, it's also been written in religious texts, so the faithful (sic), can follow the docttrines.

Mind you, genetic abnormalities occur each and every day without the help of close relatives. I think, more than anything, it's the social stigma of incest that deters it.

Interestingly though, studies have shown that siblings raised apart, quite often show a remarked attraction for one another.

We, as a society, have been raised to blindly adhere to social mores - but don't forget - if you are christian, then we are all products of incest!

How many incestuous relationships are going to happen in the future? Not only because of siblings being split up and adopted, children being adopted from other countries and may in aduldhood meet and fall in love with a person who is unknowingly their sibling.

IVF and Donor fathers will create a myriad of siblings that will never know the other, but meet one day and fall in love.

I don't think it it is quite uncommon with estranged families, but more so with half siblings.

I suppose it starts with wanting to be close to each other and wires get crossed along the way.  

Anyway, this girl is just a child basically and he should be in jail.

There is a rather large difference between a half sibling and a father, imo.

A lot of half siblings who end up together have not known of their relationship when they met or they have met as late teens or adults.  Based on what she said this father sounds like a predator who knew exactly what he was doing and she sounds very naive.

The woman said she instantly clicked with her father because of their similarities. They both liked The Simpsons and The Big Bang Theory, for example.

Wow that's a basis for a relationship you can't beat.
