My kindle had a hissy fit last night and I had to get online to find a solution......it suddenly went to a flashing tree pic for no known reason.
After searching the forum help, I plugged it in to charge, even though it was not flat, waited a half hour and then reset it, held the button on for 30 secs, then pressed alt G... and voila!!
I was not sure it would work and was busy checking out new ones, lol.
Now, does anyone know how long they last?
I got it at the beginning of 2011, I think.

I have had 2 replacements.
I originally bought one in July last year, it went haywire in February and kept restarting. They replaced it for me.
The replacement went haywire last month - it just froze and nothig could be done.
They replaced that one for me too.
Not sure what will happen if it goes wrong as the original purchase was over 12 months ago now.
I've had no problems with the other 2 indles in the house - yet. One is about 7 months old - if it dies I won't be able to get it replaced as the cover has popped open a bit. We accidentally left it in a hot car for a week in January.
The other is only a couple of months old.

I have had one replacement [original purchased Dec 2010], but that was because my Golden Retriever jumped on it a couple of months ago and cracked the insides of the device. [screen was fine but it had all these black lines across it when turned on]. Till then it was working perfectly.
I have the Kindle touch screen now and for some reason when I turn on the WiFi and select 'check for new items' it doesn't pick up the new books I've purchased.
I have to go to Archived items, find the titles and select download to get them to my Kindle.
I will ask the advice of the staff of that big river in South America about that issue.

I also have issues with non delivery of my books....today I purchased 2 but only 1 showed up on my kindle.
I went to the big river....and checked my account. Both books were there.......so I sent it to my kindle, it seems to be a regular thing?

Daydream, mine has never given me a problem before and I take it everywhere with me in a case. This last month it has remained by my bedside though.

That's the deal I got on my 3rd one.
I bought my first one for me, son #2 borrowed it so much I got anohter oe so he could have one for his 12th birthday. Then Son #1 discovered it and borrowed mine so often that I bought one of the Woollies specials so I could read too.

I am getting a bit annoyed that when I buy books now, they don't always go to my Kindle? and I have to log in on my computer and send them to it. no idea why.
I have it set to one click buy and send to my Kindle.
Any ideas?
