Kyle Sandilands Accidently Plugs 2Day FM In New Job

How embarrassment.

Kyle Sandilands has made an embarrassing blunder on the first day of his new radio show, forgetting he and co-host Jackie O had made the controversial switch to a new station.

The shock jock was throwing to a song when he slipped up, saying he was on his old radio station of 2Day FM.

"Okay wow, I meant KIIS FM," Sandilands quickly corrected, interrupting the song while Jackie O laughed in the background.

"Big mistake, big mistake."

EXCLUSIVE: Kyle slams radio rivals as 'messy'

"Was waiting for Kyle to say the wrong station name," tweeted a staff member at KIIS FM.

"I'm sure that'll make the news tonight!"

The verbal trip would have had executives at KIIS FM cringing after they invested significantly to lure the popular duo, said The Daily Telegraph.

I thought I'd give them a go this morning against my better judgement. I've been dreading their first day on air since before Christmas.

I tuned in at 7.15 and by 7.45 all I'd heard was ad after ad after ad, punctuated by Kyle and Jackie talking about themselves, the traffic report more ads, the news, more ads, and one song.

I'm outta there. I almost miss Sami Lukis and Yumi Stynes.

Sandilands gives the word bumptious it's proper meaning IMO.

 The slip has made all the major news site, its near on head lines across many of the major medias web pages...... You think it was a slip......... HHmmmmmm...... Now amount of money can buy this sort of publicity for their show...... So I do wonder just how much of a slip it really was..... 🙂  

Its good to have them back... their replacment show on 2day is a dogs dinner and I bet doesnt last 6 months......

Nah I think it was a genuine slip, I mean, he was a 2day for how long? He would've been in the groove of saying 2day FM for so long it would be second nature and old habits are hard to break. Bumptious as he is, he's only human.

It'd be a fair bet Kiis's management would've anticipated it.

I agree with you Nero re the replacement show on 2day, I tuned over to see wether it was any better after Kyle and Jackie left, but nuh.

I'm a bit homeless now with regard to radio to and from work. 😞

It was fairly controversial at the time. All sorts of rumours were flying around. They got the sack; They wanted more money and 2day refused; they were has-beens; their careers were over...
