You might want to rephrase that.

JMK: "So much for his promise of smaller government. It must only apply to govt departments that deal with the population, the plebs...and not himself. He has 54 staffers in his office, the highest number ever!"
Gosh you might be correct JMK
14th June, 2011
Prime Minister's staff numbers increase by 30% since Labor came to office in 2007. Ms Gillard has 53 personal staff compared to 41 since when Mr Rudd took office (Herald Sun)
I wonder if that includes Gillard's chief of staff, imported on a 457 Visa ?

Thanks jmk Nigel Scullion seems ok, but the rest are a bit scary - Abetz, Cash, Sinodinis, Pyne etc. I suppose we shouldn't be too harsh on them, they are fairly new to the role and probably haven't been fully briefed by Credlin
.
And to imagine that Mirabella would have been a valued member of that front bench if she had got up up in Indi - wow.
Yes, it would be a sad life to be so intensely full of fear and loathing that some posters seem to exhibit .... I am of the opinion that labby lefties (is that a type of dog ???) are more fun and have a keener sense of humour and the ridiculous than their LNP counterparts. I would love to run an analysis on the appreciation of Monty Python-esque humour vs political leanings - maybe John has a graph on it.

P01: "And the 457 Visa comment is relevant .... why ?"
Because this is a political thread, and during the pre-election jousting the ALP's head office (ACTU) were bitterly complaining about organisations importing foreign labour under 457 visas which they asserted needed to be reviewed. I honestly think the ALP could have dug up someone local who could have advised our Poor Me just as badly as McTernan did, with her natural help of course! e.g: "the idea of photographing Julia Gillard knitting a toy kangaroo for the royal baby" was his."
A Scottish adviser for a Welsh born Australian Poor Me supposedly knitting a toy for an English royal baby. No one would ever include the person who dreamt that one up as a member of their staff.
