THE remarkable thing about the latest Newspoll survey is that there isn't anything remarkable about it.
Federal politics, Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott are in a rut, but it is a rut Labor can't afford to stay in. Only 145 days from the federal election, nothing is changing for Labor, the Coalition or the leaders. There isn't one change in the Newspoll survey outside the margin of error of 3 per cent.
The ALP's primary vote last weekend was 32 per cent, the same it as it was in the Newspoll survey two weeks ago and that is bang on Labor's average this year. The Coalition's was 46 per cent, a point under its average this year, and its two-party-preferred support was 55 per cent compared with Labor's 45 per cent - both the average figures since the start of the election year.
On preferred PM, Gillard's 35% - her 3rd sub -40 in a row was a bit below average. Abbot's 40, his 3rd plus 30's in a row, was average. So Federal politics is in a rut: the oppositions dominance on primary vote isn't shifting. the Coalition has kept n election winning 10 point 2PP lead over the government all yeat & Gillard is now consistantly less polpular than Abbott.

Poor Julia, when will they put her out of her misery? even her pub crawls are not working out for her, a bit like the Rooty Hill Sleepover, a total disaster, she can't even campaign properly.

Do you think the percentage will drop after the Budget or are these the die hard Labor voters that will never vote for the Coalition?

Cats, I don't think the budget will change anybody's mind re this failed Labor govt. The polls consistantly show they are finished.
This failed Labor govt. refuse to see the abyss they are all marching towards.
The litany of failure of this govt. beggars belief, I don't have the time to list them all but a few are the politics of sexism, division, class war, and not content with that, they go on to destroy our export businesses & humiliate & destroy the morale of our sportsmen & women for all the world to see. All this for a diversion to take the heat off themselves.
The billions wasted, the cash splashes & the billions not achieved by the mining tax & the carbon tax has only gone to harming our businesses & all the Labor supporters on here are happy with that because they mistakenly think it doesn't affect them, the old "I'm alright Jack" mentality.
Trying to couch the cash splashes & welfare into the term "Labor Values" is a sick joke perpetrated on Australians because they don't see any "labor values" from this crop of failures.
