Both major parties have pledged never to allow the authors of these letters to be resettled in Australia.
Letter 14
“This is a will for a lady who was trying to commit suicide”
My darling, I apologise to you deeply that I’m leaving you. My nice husband, I love you, again and again I begged Jesus but I don’t know why the Father has forgotten us as He forgot the Jews in the Second World War.
My kind husband, I’m leaving here to open heaven’s gate. To you and others, please excuse me.
I’ve never understood the meaning of this sentence: “The one in authority is God’s servant to do you good” (Romans 13: 4).
We have always respected the law even when we were near to death, were fleeing.
We are seeking refuge in a country where there is a lot of wisdom, compassion and freedom among its people, but their rulers have stone hearts. They were called but they don’t know Jesus, they are spending people’s money imprisoning and torturing women and kids in detention.
Do you remember living a year in 45-degree heat with a small fan? Sometimes with no water to drink and shower.
Do you think my soul will go to my parents? If you could talk to them, tell them, “Your daughter will come to kiss your feet.”
I’ve been crying a lot which causes me headaches, my darling, my darling, I love you, I love you, I will be waiting for you in a peaceful place. Don’t rush, I am counting the time, but don’t rush!
I’m not worried about my body, you know what to do!
I love you.
Solved! Go to Solution.

All that happened a while ago and since then I have integrated 100% to my adopted country and have fought for it and bled for it. What about you?
And the rest of you, what have YOU done for YOUR country?
Myself - I admit - very little.
I paid my taxes - every dam*n cent.
I do consider though - I paid in my youth.
I was fathered by a lovely man whose life was cut short by history.
He was a POW for 4 years - years that had a decided effect on him - he was a quiet man - a thoughtful man - a solitary man.
He passed away at 65 - far too soon for me to forgive.
I do not believe in the sins of the fathers - my daughter shares my Australian blood with her father's German blood.
So what I have done for my country - again - very little.

i don't believe those letters are genuine at all.
they read as contrived by someone with a clear mind and the agenda of taking shots at the Australian government, not someone in total despair with no clear alternative in their thoughts but to end their life

Totally agree with you Pepe. The writer seem to have a good grasp of the English language too, maybe just a bit too god a grasp.

Many people who are coming from Iran are educated, English speaking, and some are also Christians. So, what is your problem; mostly people are complaining that the refugees do not want to learn English, and when some actually do speak English then apparently it is fishy?

I will ask the guy I know who manages one of the camps about what he knows about the letters.
And of course to suggest they get shut down.
So, you think that you have the right to tell the refugees they are not allowed to write letters? Even the worst convicted criminal has a right to write letters. Do you really hate these people so much? Why, because they escaped persecution and in many cases torture and hope to build life for themselves and their family?

s_n, do you actually believe that letters like the ones posted here are genuine?
It is so obvious that they are contrived solely for the purpose of trying to influence the opinion of gullible people who will swallow anything that is even remotely emotive.
Perhaps they would carry a bit more credibility if the were authenticated, which they are not.
and by the way who are the letter written to?
If they are private what are they doing in a public forum?
If they are not private then what is the motive behind them?
