Pimpy, is your kitty an Australian Mist?? I was looking at them before I chose a Burmilla instead ๐Ÿ™‚

Bella is finally starting to slow down - she is over 10 now! She still does crazy cat runs through the house every now and then though.

She is an inside only kitty - when we bought her the breeder gave us a HUGE speech about how 20 generations of her cats had not been outside!

Hi Flannie xxx

"Nake" ...  :^O  Now there's a good name for a blue tongue lizard if ever I heard one, the perfect description.  A blue tongued nake ... :^O

We rescued an Australian Spotted Mist (if that's what you mean B3?) from a unit that had been abandoned that had just been left there ...  ๐Ÿ˜ฎ  A tenant from the complex told us about her and the poor thing wasn't looking too good, so we took her to the vet and left her there because she (the vet) said she was 'different' and valuable and would take care of her from there.  We didn't even know what breed she  was until she was returned back to health and identified at a later time when she had been adopted.

She was a very light tan colour with a Burmese face, and did have elongated spots and huge eyes.

Yes Tas - that's the breed I meant.... gorgeous cats!

I have seen some obvious purebreeds winning the Domestic breed sections at a cat show or 2 - one was obviously the most stunning lilac burmese but because she had been picked up as a stray.....

Thanks for that B3, I thought you might have meant one of those.  They are so beautiful.

How awful to have been picked up as a stray, but at least then, she had found a forever home?

I was driving back north from Hobart three years ago and in the middle of nowhere, there was a cat close to the middle of the road, obviously seriously injured and in great distress.

There were heavy tyre marks towards and past it and it looked as though someone had deliberately run the cat over.  It's back was broken and it was dying, so I carried it to the side of the road and held it in my arms until it died.  It purred and purred as though it knew it was now safe with someone.  I had never seen a cat like it, it's markings were extraordinary.

It turns out it was a Bengalese cat;  there was lady who was breeding them in a house well off the road up a long driveway and this one, her breeding female had somehow got out.  It was in the paper three days later, so I was able to ring her and tell her about it.

I was horrified, one because she had got out, and two, because someone had deliberately tried to kill her and left her in the middle of the road to die.  I wept all the way home.

Tas you are a animal sook like me, when I was a property manager, I once came back to the office with a fish in a cup, tenant left the fish tank behind and this was the only survivor.

Also had to take a dog to the animal welfare, ( i cried), also rehomed a nice old Siamese some one left behind.

My boss used to laugh and say she never knew what was next

The Bengals are stunning cats. A bengal breeder from here saw pics of my kitty and asked if she was Bengal. As far as I know she's nothing special, but she has beautiful blue eyes and stripey tiger legs and spots. Her mother was a little black manx, father unknown. Officially she is a silver tabby DSC, but I do sometimes wonder when I look at her sparkley fur and spots. She's a lot darker now than she was.
