I just watched LIVING WITH THE ENEMY on SBS. The story about Ben the Aussie going to live with Lidia and Ahmed the muslims. Lidia is an Aussie and was raised Catholic and converted to Islam. Ahmed was born in Saudi Arabia.
What did I learn?
- Muslim women wont shake hands with a male person their not related to. (Very rude).
- When husband and wife muslims pray in their own house, the wife has to pray behind her husband. (Women are not treated as equals even in their own house).
- Christians are not allowed to visit Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Why? Because you have to be muslim to be allowed.
- Mosques can be built all over Australia but we can't build a Church in Saudi Arabia.
- The Quran tells muslims to kill people.
- In the mosque women are behind the curtain at the back. It's their own area. Why? Because the men have to be in a different section. Why? To give women privacy. This is the reason they cited. The real reason I believe is not to cause desire in the men.
- When they went shopping they visited a halal butcher to buy lamb shoulder. Ben wasn't consulted. What if he wanted pork chops?
- They went to Bondi to do an "Aussie thing called surfing". Lidia went swimming in her full Islamic clothing then when she came out of the water she placed a towel around her depicting the Australian flag.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Maybe they just like to worship in peace without hordes of half naked tourists staring at them. And they do not wish to turn their place of worship into crass money making tourist theme park, such as some of the Christian sites have become. The fact is that Mecca is in 100% Muslim country and it is up to them to decide who can and cannot go there. There is no reason for anybody except Muslims to go there. Nobody else has business to go there.
On the other hand, Australia is a society that has representatives of just about any faith, and the freedom to worship who ever we want. So, anybody is free to build their church, mosque, temple or synagogue, according to the local planning regulations.

Islam teaches that integration and mixing with infidels is forbidden. What if I'm a western infidel studying for a degree in Islamic studies and I want to visit Mecca for better understanding? Nope. Not allowed.

nah, the answer appears to be
simpler than that - only those who believe
in islam and are involved in the defence of
islam are allowed to enter the city of mecca.
in regards to not wanting to be like some christian
sites - how do you think maccans earn money?
no one has any business to go there -
hmmm - how is it different to wanting to visit
other famous, ancient, spiritual, interesting places?

strange isn't it? that there are people posting here who have family members who are muslim and friends who are Muslim.....................and none of us are called infidels by them, nor are they trying to kill us...... or stop us from eating pork.

I do hope they haven't ruined the "supply" of the tincture for medical use etc.
The test results showed that the activity in his brain was within normal limits, but "close to the line". Given his age, I don't think he will worry. He didn't start using it until he was 24, but admitted he drank a lot of alcohol before that.
The consensus seems to be that to use this substance before 24/25 is risky, because the brain does not complete its development until then. My opinion is that because he was this age, his brain has not been damaged, and if it has, alcohol would be the cause. Alcohol is a poison, whereas MJ is a natural plant, used for centuries before we got hung up about it.

Thanks so much.
I was a bit focussed on the outdoor loo....................... thinking, his crop must not finance a septic system. It was a bit public, what about carpet snakes? flies, mozzies etc.
