THE resurgence of a dangerously violent street game that targets innocent bystanders has left people dead and others fearing for their lives.
The aim of the game, known as Knockout, is to approach an unsuspecting passerby and punch them so powerfully they are knocked unconscious. The attacks are violent, deliberate and in some cases, fatal.
Why? Simply "for the fun of it," said one teenage participant.
Wow, I don't get shocked too often by the stupidity of people, but this one takes the cake.

hmmm...nuh. I don't think so.
You can be selective with your news, wear your blinkers ok, but you can't deny the facts!

facts ?
Why? Simply "for the fun of it," said one teenage participant.
"They think it's funny," said another.
"They just go, boom, when it's the right time and the right place.
"It could be anybody, it could be a mother with her children. It's a macho thing."
bundled with a video from London, and a series of reports of unrelated assaults in New york Missouri and somewhere else.all uncorroborated i thought you were cynical icy ? you said so
i'm not saying nobody was assaulted, i just find the authors 'hunch' about a new craze a little over the top given the scant material provided.

Icy, before you make your mind up. get onto Google and have a look at some of the websites reporting these attacks. See what other articles they publish and read the comments of their followers. I don't like to post actual links as most of them are so blatently racist I could be in trouble.

Bullying
Cowardice
Usually emboldened via the presence of their bullying, cowardly mates
Are they attacking groups of 186 cms rugy players ?
Are they attacking heavy-weight boxers ?
Don't think so
All the cases I've heard of have involved groups of cowardly thugs targeting the vulnerable
Doesn't help when a sentence of five years is handed down for what is basically premeditated murder
It will stop when the powers-that-be want it to stop -- just as it's currently being encouraged via the media
Increase the penalties by 100 and it will stop virtually overnight
