My grandma always used to add one scoop of tea leaves for every person and then "one for the pot"
She also used to turn the tea pot around. I think it was three times one way and then once the other?
Can't remember, wish I could though.
Don't know why she did these things either, they were just some of her little rituals and quirks I guess?
Anyone else have any special tea making quirks?
Or know why my grandma used to do those things?

I always buy Nerada tea as well. It's Australian.

I like Billy tea and used to love China tea in a green packet but its no longer available.
Twinnings Earl Grey is great cold.

It's considered VERY bad luck to stir tea in a pot Martini, you'll get vexed and in a quarrel! Lol
Dunno about getting into a quarrel Mugssy, but after my experience, it's certainly something to be avoided.
Several years ago while driving alone from Brisbane to Sydney, I stopped at Karuah roadhouse and asked for a pot of tea, which was filled with extremely hot water from a boiling, spitting urn, and after it had been delivered to my table, I began turning it around with my forefinger when it slipped off the table and straight into my lap!
As a result, I ended up spending 2 days in Newcastle Mater Hospital with 2nd & 3rd degree burns to my upper thighs and another unmentionable portion of my anatomy, and whilst it was clearly a great source of amusement to the nurses who had to apply Silver Sulfadiazene cream and replace my dressings every few hours, I found it to be extremely painful, highly embarrassing, and not the least bit funny.
Needless to say, ever since then I've used Tetley tea bags instead. 😉
