Anybody watch Lateline last night?? Wow, not really a fan of Malcom's but he destroyed Albo on the NBN & shone a light on the lies & cost.

He did very well considering he had to counter 2 opponents, Albo & Alberici.

He sure did and Albo LIED and LIED but thats not unexpected from a Labor party member

During a debate on the NBN on ABC’s Lateline last night, Liberal communications spokesman Malcolm Turnbull asked Mr Albanese to produce the latest business plan to back his claims on the strength of Labor’s policy.

“It is sitting on your desk,” Mr Turnbull said.

“The company gave it to you only a month or so ago.”

Mr Albanese responded: “That is not right. They have not produced the final business plan.”

Mr Turnbull said: “Oh, I see. Labor keeps the draft stamped on it so you don’t have to give it out before the election. You have got a confession from the company ... and you don’t want to let the public know.”

Mr Albanese said if the government had received it would have to go through cabinet and that could not occur in an caretaker election period.

Mr Turnbull said: “They have undoubtedly received it.”

Mr Albanese said: “No. We have not received the final business plan.”

UPDATE

Financial Review:

Communications Minister Anthony Albanese has admitted the government may not release NBN Co’s updated business plan until after the federal election on September 7, 2013.

the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission as well as internet service provider SingTel-Optus who have long stated that the NBN will be a government-owned monopoly. NBN Co sets wholesale prices and has set a $150 per month wholesale rate for 1Gbps services, on top of which retailers will have to pay access charges before adding a margin.

I watched it and my opinion is Turnbull's bluff talk bought him unstuck and looking very silly, he obviously needs to get with the programme.

I thinkEmma Alberici ripped them both but Albo is a shocking speaker but still prefer Labors NBN speeds. Not sure Malcolm realises that 25 is great for a single user not a household all using the NBN at the same time.

I do not think that Malcolm ripped Albo.  Malcolm knows very well that the Labor NBN is the right thing to do, but the LNP need to be different, they cannot go to the election saying they will continue all ALP policies.
I am not going to be happy with the existing wiring to my house; everytime the outside temperature goes over 30 degrees it fails, I call the service, within day or so somebody gets up the pole, fiddles bit and sometimes it is better for a day or so, sometimes not. This past summer I had only internet access at night, sometimes.  What is the cost in service call outs is anybody's guess.  What is the cost to business would be staggering.

Obviously many on here didn't understand the debate last night & the outright lies & subterfuge from Labor.

Turnbull turned the screws on Albanese & Albanese was cornered.

Turnbull knows what he's talking about & the truth will come out after the election. They are hiding everything & lying to Australia every day. The VFBB Labor is always spruiking is only suitable for companies who need mega data or gov. departments & hospitals all that type of use.. The $20.000 per month that entails is something a suburban street dweller will never need or use.

They have the report but are lying about it to us,  but that doesn't seem to bother many who are blinded by political bias to the detriment of the rest o the populace.

Frankly I'm tired of the to & fro of the politically blinded, to the truth of the disaster of Labor. Roll on Sept so they can go.

Especially when it's up to 25Mbps. In the UK people complain that at peak times the speed drops off to much.

how could turnbull win on a false premise. fttn is a dog, ftth is a winner. there's no doubt of that except in the minds of blind loyalists and techno - challenged folks.

turnbull continues to mislead and lie on the nbn.

'he should be called on these untruths every time they dribble out of 'is lyin' mouth.

he didn't rip anybody, except for the gullible tools who believe what he says, and those

who don't understand what those lies are.
