Man working at this shelter schooled me on the US bill of rights

This is priceless, and I'm going to try and get his name so I can post it later in a reply, thinking about doing a video segment on this as well.

I got it all wrong see, when I come into this place and they search through my purse, coat, bags, ect, and have me go though a metal detector, He isn't violating my 4th amendment right, the 4th is the right to bear arms, See, I thought the right to bear arms was the 2ed amendment. I must have it all wrong because this guy is a justice major and far more qualified to know, I only studied personal freedom for years on the internet and I'm not a justice major like this man is.

So if the right to bear arms is the 4th, then whats the 2ed? Do I have the 1st being the freedom of speech and expression all wrong too? I know this is not an Americain board, but would be willing to gamble that most of you Alstrailans know more on this than most Americans.

Side note- just a little poking fun at something else as well, A confusing conflict between the 1st and the 5th, people don't know if they should talk, or remain silent. lol

Australians don't know much about the Constitutional rights enjoyed by the US citizen.

I know about the 1st and the 2nd but after that, I'd have to look them up.

I tell you what though, when I go out to the shops and they want to search my bags, I have  a policy to not return to those shops and give them my business.

Not so long ago when going through a checkout at a shop I was asked to present my bags for a search and I did so but said "I'm not going to steal from you", then when I got back to my car and checked the sales docket, I found I had been overcharged.

Needless to say I went back to the teller and complained that while checking my bag, she wasn't giving full attention to her job, and actually tried to steal from me.

I believe the main 3 that really put meaning into personal freedom and natural human rights in general, are the 1st, 2ed, and 4th. Many of the others, maybe all the others, all 10, or 27 amendments, are only variations of those three.

The most important, and the most endangered is the 4th

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,

against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated,

and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation,

and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized

It's by far the most violated in this day and age. Tyrants use or create false flag events, like the 9/11 tragody, mass shootings, ect.  in their efforts to undermind this paticular right while violating it. Then the 2ed amendment only comes into it if you have any firearms and they are taken, or you face santion for having them.

But this 4th is violated every time a resident of this shelter comes into the building. I just pointed that out to the staff member who wouldn't allow me to bring in a sealed bottle of water, sealed with a screw on lid so no chance of a spill, so I could have water to swallow the pills I have to take before I go to sleep, after 8:30pm when they don't allow me to go out to my car to take the pills. (curfue) Theres smoking in here, they let people bring in ciggeretes, but no water. No food or drinks of any kind allowed in the dorm, but drugs?, ciggeretes that have been half smoked then put out to save for later, still putting off nasty fumes, thats allowed.

But again, I'm not a justice major, lol, this guy says the 4th, is the right to bear arms. I so need to get that on video and Youtube it.

As long as you spout nonsense. you will never be taken seriously...........

As far as "unreasonable searches", that is only applicable to governmental agencies........Just as private entities have the inalienable rightt to deny you entrance if you're carrying a weapon, they have the right to refuse the introduction of food and beverages.  You don't like it, go sleep under a freeway overpass..........

Yeah, no complaints, in truth I probibly signed something waiving my 4th, but this guy says and is sticking to his (bad pun) guns on this, he seems so sure of himself, saying the 4th amendment is the right to bear arms, I went back up there and asked his name, he won't even speak to me now, shame, I was having fun with this. a justice major, lol. I wanted to ask him what the 2ed amendment was. You can't make this stuff up. I probibly could have said any number and he would go stright to the right to bear arms. I wonder ifhe went, and checked to find he was wrong, I did, looked it up again here on the internet, and went and showed what the 4th said to his supervisor, I told her that he accused me of bringing guns into the shelter because I pointed out that he was violating the 4th amendment.

This reminds me of a co worker, a temp actually at the company I worked at. He was talking about guns and said that he had a S&W (Smith and Wesson) Python, I said, "no you don't, that would have to be a Colt, not S&W" He swore is was a S&W and another long time employee who also didn't know about guns, and just didn't like me said he was right and I was wrong. Men, they are right even when they are wrong. But I was trying to bring water and Pepsi in here, not a gun. I bet they wrote something up saying I tried to bring a gun in here, just because I mentioned them violating the 4th.

Again, I don't understand why they don't screen for ciggeretes, they say smoking in the dorm is not allowed, just as eating / drinking is not allowed, but let those openly bring ciggeretes and tobacco to make them, in here.

I offered to medeiate a workshop support group here for women who want to quit smoking, but i'm guessing they will turn my offer down. They encourage smoking in here, in spite of what their rule says about it. If they give me the go ahead on that, I'm off to the library to find and print up some relivant materal for what i'm guessing will be 40 to 50 women struggling with this nasty addiction and wanting help to quit. I can be ready to go in about a week and thinking it should be a once a week group meeting.

on the food and drink, I agree and support banning open drinks and food. it's a mess issue where spills and crums attrack bugs and flying insects. But food and drink in seald packages should be allowed to keep in one's locker to take to the cafeatera and eat without having to go to a car, many here don't even have a car to keep it in. Drinks like water and Pepsi in a bottle with a screw on lid can't posibilly spill. But ciggeretes or tobacco can be carried openly, even half smoked ones and don't even need to be in a container.

the food given in this shelter is comparable to what they give you in jail, you might possibily live off of it,but your not going to enjoy it much if any at all. Then you have to finish it right then and there in the cafeteria, thats as it should be because it's open food. But let us women bring in sealed foods to keep in our locker, only taking out to eat in the cafetra. We have a food card, many of us do, we are expected to eat out at restruants, eat the food given here, or only buy at the grocery what we can finish before coming back into this building.

We have food benifits we can't effectivly use. Well I can, I have a car to keep it in, but most here don't.
