Mandatory COVID-19 Jabs

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has backtracked on his comments that a COVID-19 vaccine will be as “mandatory as you can possibly make it” for all Australians once it becomes available.

News.com.au revealed Wednesday that the Morrison Government confirmed a landmark agreement with drug giant AstraZeneca to manufacture one of the world’s most promising coronavirus vaccines currently being developed by Oxford University researchers.

If it’s proved safe to use, Prime Minister Scott Morrison believes the agreement will ensure Australians will be among the first countries in the world to secure the jab, revealing this morning it could be available to Aussies as soon as early next year.

Good ol' dorky Scomo. Ready to do a deal with any big ol' pharmaceutical co.

should be first mass tested across the pond - where covid-19 is out of control with high fatality rate . yet where many regions are not significantly infected yet  - and where big-pharma is loved and trusted and where enough citizens do not have access to meaningful medical treatment , a huge expendable working poor

I suppose Melbourne with its relatively high infection rates compared with virtually eradicated status of the other states would be the logical first mass vaccine program

There is already a mass vaccine trial underway. and it's not in Melbourne.

Nowhere has the PM implied that the vaccine would be used without the proper  scientific trials.  As if.  .   Also do people really think that AstraZeneca would give its name to a drug that is not deemed to be safe?   As if.  And to those who sneer at the pharma companies bear in mind that it is a pharma company that will give us the needed vaccine ...... if there's such a vaccine to be found.

Well, he's been pretty vocal about it in the past. Going back to the footy players who didn't want to be jabbed, his intention was obvious when he said ... " it should be No jab, no play" or something to that effect.
