Does the collective health for all trump the right of individuals?

Wait 5 years to decide whether the vaccine is safe?  How many will be dead before a decision is made?

While I would normally agree with you I think extraordinary times call for some departures from normal protocols.

As for promoting better health and well being.....how many health nuts and top athletes suffer from the same diseases as those of us who don't/can't exercise and have an average diet.....not the sort of diet of a top athlete, that is for sure.

I hear what you say and I understand your concerns lyndal1838. However there is a major concern among many people that range from the pro-vacc to the anti-vacc and everyone in between that this is a crisis to be exploited.  There are many examples of the corrupt nature that big pharma possesses. One thing  that drug dealers either legal or illegal have in common is the desire for profit at any cost. Legality can't always change the nature of the beast.

The second question I don't know the stats but I can say that being as healthy as one can be given their circumstances is a step in the right direction.

I remember more than 40 years ago reading about singer Joan Armatrading (Doing Tracey Chapman before Tracey) and she had cancer or some serious illness. Her healthy lifestyle was credited with her speedy recovery.  I think her attitude to life came though her music as well.

Joan Armatrading is one of the most celebrated musicians of her generation. She was the first UK female singer-songwriter to gain international success, is a three-time Grammy Award nominee, has been nominated twice for BRIT Awards as Best Female Artist. She's also been honoured by the Queen, being one of the few female artists to receive an MBE. Making her debut album in 1972, she recently released her 20th recording—Starlight. It's the final part of a trilogy covering blues, rock and soul. She's perhaps most famous for songs like 'Me, Myself I', 'Drop the Pilot', 'Show Some Emotion', 'Love and Affection' and 'My Baby's Gone'.

"The first thing to say about Eve is that she was a big improvement on the Adam design, or that Adam was an extremely misguided variation on the Eve design. (Consider testicles. Two concentrated nuclei of absolute vulnerability. Where? Dangling between the legs. I rest my case.)"

Yeah OK right well, this has a lot to do with what we're talking about I guess. Easier than debating I suppose. It's Xmas time and a busy time so one could be forgiven for taking the quicker route.

I haven't seen you since real earlier this week. Nice to see you pop in today just for this and one other.

BTW: Don't know Greg Duncan is he a poet?  Obviously you know of someone I don't. Or is he like Greg Bollora?

Now back to the subject. I guess that a lot of this depends on which vaccine manufacturer is more reliable. One would hope our elected political representatives would have a good shop around.

Definitely till at least the middle of next week.

I am in because my OH has medical issues and he is the mobile one in the family.  They decided I was better off in here than home alone.  Not sure that I agree but it is what it is.

We have just been told that there is a suspected Covid case 2 rooms away so I am not happy.  I suvived the previous lockdown safely and now there is nothing I can do to try and keep safe.

LOL, way over your head.

BTW: Are you still a member of Densa?

Now back to the subject:

Bob actually asked if we would support a mandatory vaccine, which I think is a good question. It seems some people think it should be mandatory for some, but not for others. Where would we draw the line though? That is what concerns me.

Toilet Paper Tug-of-WarTippy*toes, I whipped up this emoticon at the time of the Victorian Toilet Wars.

And in case anyone runs out, please have a virtual roll. BotSoft - the royal toilet paper for Gentlemen and Ladies upon the Stools  But... I won't do a Lorna Jane and claim that toilet paper's efficacy conquers the most severe bout of COVID-19. It doesn't. It only wipes the the hinterlands.
