Why was he in an orphanage for the first 5 years of his life?. After that he lived with both his parents, for a few years at least.
His mother a strict Seventh Day Adventist.. why did she put her baby son in an orphanage and leave him there for 5 years?
for any of the same reasons children are placed in care now .Why would religion exclude that happening ?
(this is not to you or any one poster specific Am3)
I feel for any family who mourn the loss of a loved one.If he was a member of my family I do think that I may have expected to hear of his passing for the majority of his adult life
imo watching a loved one suffer over a long period of time with a terminal illness makes it easier to see the passing as a relief for them.

Children who have 2 parents together aren't placed in orphanages now, nor are they left in any sort of institution for 5 years, especially ones where the parents can rock up 5 yrs later and reclaim their child.
There will be bits left out/embellished in that part of his life as well.
How do you think his victims felt when they had their toes blown/burnt off with a blow torch or chopped off?
I feel sorry his kids had him for a Dad.

That's right they aren't placed into orphanges now...now there is Foster care where once there was instituations.
I didn't mention victims or defend any thing .I won't be

I mentioned victims suffering in relation to Chopper suffering from a terminal illness.. did he care about the suffering of his victims who had their toes blown/burnt off (whilst being exhorted for money), let alone the ones he supposedly killed.
If he was a notorious criminal (bank robber etc) who never seriously injured anyone physically, it would be different.

Yes ...death is the final release from suffering a terminal illness
on 11-10-2013 12:52 PM
?? Death is also the final result from being murdered.

someone mentioned that his victims and family may have some closure and feel better now he has passed away.
it's also possible that the suffering pre death gave some people a sense of some kind of Justice being done.
those who love him and stood by his bedside may see things from another angle

I see what you mean now.
Not in a direct reply to anyone:
He has a wife and 2 children (different mothers).. 3 -4 family people in mourning. No siblings it appears, nor do his parents seem to be still alive.
How many people did he injure/maim/threaten/kill in his life time?
It doesn't matter who it is, if you do very bad (& criminal) things for the majority of your life, you can't expect everyone just to forget that, just by saying I have turned my life around and am leading a good life now.

Saw part of an interview with him and he said 'oh well if there is a God, sorry'
