Marriage equality.

In last evenings so-called debate Rudd said he would introduce a gay marriage or 'marriage equality' bill into the house after the election (should he win) in all the bickering over 'winners' this was the only standout promise. will the other bloke promise the same thing ?

You have a very good point there, if he were to slip in the polls then maybe.

Kevin Rudd was very much against marraige equality but has changed his mind WHY ? because he hopes it will win him votes, no other reason. At least Tony Abbott believes in what he has always stated and must be admired for his unchanging stance on the matter. He did admit that if it was introduced in parliament again as a concience vote he would abide by party decision.

Kevin Rudd has over the past few months completely done a 360 on almost everything he said in the past (Kevin 07 days) and is adopting many of the NLP policies as a desperate attempt to win. He is a total lip smacking joke and I love the reference to Mr Sheen by another posterWoman LOL

Keep it nice, I might cry if you write anything upsetting (like not)

That's a good thing newstart, to admit mistakes and grow/change with the times. I used to believe lots of things that I no longer believe, believe it or not I wanted to become a nun once upon a time Smiley Happy

I doubt very much whether the people most concerned give a flying fig why he has promised  it.

It seems that Tony who has a gay sister isnt allowed to have his opinion and because the gays of the country and the people on here dont like it he has to change his mind to suit them.

Unlike their hero the CHEATING fraud RUDD Tony sticks to his opinion and beliefs and that shows his character.. STRONG

The gays need to get over themselves and move on and so do all the people carrying on with their over the top support..

MY guess is it if went to a referendum that it would be a resounding NO vote

TONY has an opinion.... HE is allowed his opinion.... now build a bridge

He should have answered the question then with a resounding NO! Instead he evaded the question and rambled on about cost of living.

if he indeed would vote for it if it were a 'conscience vote' that's great. the thing is as leader.. he has to bring on that vote by allowing his colleagues a conscience vote.  he hasn't done that, so it is him standing in the way.. its his decision.
