Cat mad, I am sure I heard somewhere of a surgeon offering hysterectomies via a 2 cm incision via the belly button. New technique
Overnight stay in hospital
Might have been Macquarie Hospital in Sydney.
It is a laparoscopic hysterectomy and I will need at least two nights stay (up to 4) but I will not be able to lift anything for two weeks or drive a car so will need to be very prepared with meals and stuff like that.

catmad, my best wishes for your surgery and a speedy recovery.
I have had a radical hysterectomy when I was 34y old. Two weeks in hospital and then no heavy lifting for at least six month I was told. Easy to say for the Doctors, they did not have a family to care for.
Today, 43 later, I am fit and well and never had any female problems anymore. I hope your future will be bright and happy without the problems you are having now.
