Interesting, so apparently the "hairdryer affair" in Afghanistan was totally fabricated.
Also the Lily Fontana story was nothing but huge beat up. There are people around when the make up is being put on, and all said that all what happened was Lily did Rudd's make up moments before he was walking on the stage and he just thanked her. That was it, nothing happened, nothing was said. The silly girl felt snubbed! So the Murdoch gossip sheets make out of it front page and several pages inside spread, and repeat the quote of her FB no less than 6x, just in the case somebody missed it.

No, it can't be true. Murdoch papers said it happened so it must have happened.
We're supposed to be good little pixies and take note of what his papers tell us to.
We're not supposed to want both sides of the story or the news about policies, just be suckered in by Abbott and Co.

The story of Rudd and the hairdryer in Afghanistan stays alive even though totally untrue. Denied by those there including journalists

โ ABC, Five Australians: Rupert Murdoch, 25th July, 1967
In that same program, Murdoch volunteered his views on press freedom, and he was very clear about what was needed in Australia to ensure that freedom was preserved.
Rupert Murdoch: I think the important thing is that there be plenty of newspapers with plenty of different people controlling them, so that thereโs a variety of viewpoints, so thereโs a choice for the public. This is the freedom of the press that is needed. Freedom of the press mustnโt be one-sided just for a publisher to speak as he pleases, to try and bully the community.

Shall we just hear that again? Freedom of the press must not just be one-sided, for a publisher to speak as he pleases, to bully the community.
I couldnโt have put that better myself.

The Tele ran FIVE deeply negative stories about the same incidentโall built on the opinion of one woman who was with the Prime Minister for a few minutes.
Rudd says he didnโt actually speak to her.
And even the Teleโs Simon Benson accepts that the claim he was rude to her is disputed ...
... sources in the room say Rudd wasnโt rude to her at all. In fact he didnโt say a word apart from thank you when she finished.
โ Daily Telegraph, 23rd August, 2013
SO ... Lily Fontanaโs opinion is looking like a flimsy excuse for ONE big story, let alone FIVE of the same.
And it gets even flimsier when you read the Teleโs Facebook page, with reactions from readers, one of whom is a fellow make-up artist ...
I've worked on jobs where Kevin Rudd has been involved in. Not once was he rude!! This is just another ploy to tarnish the PM!

Are you sure the papers are making a profit?
Last I heard it was the entertainment units making profits and supporting the papers.

There appear to be quite a few people who care, given the coalitions behaviour over the last few weeks?
