Campaigners have argued they have successfully used the substance to treat symptoms in their chronically ill children, including those with severe epilepsy.
So honestly how much of this;
What I think is important here, is that the steps that are taken are measured, are practical, and grounded on supporting the best scientific outcomes..
is really necessary, if it's helping them and they are obviously using it to treat symptoms and it's working why dont they just let them use it fgs...

I think it's a positive move.

The reason there has been so much resistance is because drug companies are afraid of losing out in selling YOU more prescription drugs. The more prescription drugs they sell the more profit they make. This is what they want. If a plant from mother nature can heal people that would not be good for their shareholders. Pharmaceutical companies want us to be addicted to prescription drugs, the more the better for them. To them it aint about healing, it's all about PROFITS. Finally, like other jurisdictions worldwide we are starting to see progress in the right direction.

Pharmaceutical companies PAY doctors millions of dollars each year for each and every prescription they write. The more they write the more perks they get including expensive trips overseas and all sorts benefits.
Here is some interesting videos:
See, it makes sense right?
A plant from mother nature that helps people - no no no.... this would NOT be good for profits now would it?
This is only a hunch but I think this is one of the reasons why.

I watched both of those videos ufo. Very interesting indeed, thanks for posting.
I guess my question is; If medicinal cannabis becomes legal wont the Pharma companies be trying to get their hands on it too?

I'm sure they will try to monetize this plant. They will probably say THEY have to approve it through the medical board and has to be tested and verified as a true specimen etc.. who knows. They can't put a patent on it because it is a natural plant from mother nature but they will try to gain control over it. I guess the government will probably check how it works overseas before deciding how it's going to work here.

If tomatoes had the same health benefits as medical cannabis - I betcha drug companies would declare war on that too. At the end of the day if you threaten their livelihood the drug companies don't like that. It is better for them to have everyone addicted to prescription drugs. Greed and profits is all that matters.
