Mohammad Albederee

Mohammad has had a seizure, severe chest pain and is now unconscious. I have lit a candle for this young man while I wait for the sad news of his passing. Shame on you, Mr Dutton.

This link was from a few days ago and only touches the surface of what this man has suffered whilst in our care, What have we become?

Julia, an unofficial spokesperson  has advised that some personnel have taken extended leave.

The picture inThe Australian's  article doesn't appear to show the usual thinness of a person not having eaten properly for 6 months.

When a supply of very questionable press releases are used to "show the public, the errors of the politicians" in dealing with the Asylum Seekers' alleged claims, I am becoming more sceptical as time passes.

Similarly with the  report of the Somalian woman who was recently returned to Nauru.  We are not getting the full story.

Asylum seeker advocates will go to any  lengths to further their aims. Most of what is posted on here is conflated hysteria.

I've been flat out over the past week or so and this will continue until, at least, Sunday. The last that I have heard, is that Mohammad's mobile phone has had his mobile phone removed. This means that he now has no contact with his children or family. I'll catch up on this thread when I get the chance and respond accordingly.

I heard that Labor have called for greater transparency with the detention centres. This needs to happen, and soon. This will be our shame.

"I am involved with asylum seekers and refugee support. What I share is public knowledge whereas what I don't share is not."
Which , reading your comments, would indicate some  "bias" perhaps?

I would save your candle burning, as it will add unnecessarily to CO2 emissions.

I have the distinct impression this thread is but a resurrection of media news that was aired some months ago and which has since then dropped out of sight.

Allow me to present a few excerpts from various media sources to be found on the Internet apropos the topic

Mr Albederee "continues to receive appropriate clinical care" at the Manus Island detention centre, a department spokesman said in a statement.

The immigration department says reports Mr Albederee is near death are "untrue".

AN Iraqi asylum seeker who has been on a hunger strike for more than six months at the Manus Island detention centre says he's dying.  Who else , with medical expertise, says this?

"cut his stomach open to prove there's nothing inside"   And he is still alive, incredible.

Jul 16 2015 SMH
"Doctors are warning the federal government will have blood on its hands if it doesn't evacuate a critically ill asylum seeker from Manus Island to Australia for urgent medical care. Critically ill over 3 months ago ?

Sky News 6 July 2015
AAP understands Mr Albederee, who has reportedly lost 21kg, was flown to Port Moresby in mid-June where, on the 19th, he was given an MRI and an X-Ray for his shoulder.

It's understood that on Friday night Mr Albederee collapsed, and was removed from his room and taken to a hospital where he was given more intravenous fluids and injections - including for pain - before being taken back to his room.

A spokesman for Immigration said Mr Albederee continues to receive 'appropriate clinical care', and that transferees have access to care that is 'broadly comparable' with health services available in Australia.

It is amazing that this person who was supposedly "critically ill" over 3 moths ago, has been on a hunger strike for many months, has "cut open his stomach " is still "around',  has his own room, and can talk with the media.

Does anyone actually believe that Albederee's medical situation has not been under constant watch by the authorities for some months especially after those with an "agenda to air" have  done so?

I think it a shame that someone who possibly might need some extra medical support,  has had his situation hijacked/exaggerated by a bunch of people more interested in politics than compassion or truth.
