About 6 weeks ago I ordered special artist brushes from the USA. I got them on line because I could not find them in this size in our B&M artist supplies, and I chose deliberately seller in the US, hoping it will get here faster than from China. When they did not arrive, I got refund last week.
Well, they came today, BUT they are not what I ordered. Not by a long stretch, they are not the size they suppose to be, and not the material they were supposed to be made out of, and they did not come from USA but Belgium. They are totally useless to me. To send them back would cost just about what they cost me.
Would you just toss them in the bin and say nothing or let the seller know you got them?

Toss, say nothing.

depends on how much they cost
although it is the principle of it really they mislead you you were lead to believe that they were what you wanted
i would email seller let them know if they won't refund you even for the brushes i would take out a not as descibed dispute and get your money back that way.

The OP has already received the refund so no dramas there.
Super_nova I think I would let the seller know that they have finally arrived but are definitely not what you ordered and they are useless to you.
As you have already recived the refund because of the time taken for the items to arrive you are happy to return them to the seller if they pay the shipping....leaves the ball in their court then.

I already got refund becuase they did not arrive within almost 5 weeks. The brushes were only $16 all up with postage; it would cost that much if not more to post them back. I guess I could just stuff them back in the bag and mark it "return to sender".
I am absolutely livid for having all this time wasted.

I'd call it Kharma, toss the brushes (or donate them to the local kindy) and move on. You have your refund (as you should), and it's not going to benefit anybody - buyer or seller - to go through returning them. In fact it will only create more work and expense for all!
Cheers,
Marina.

oops sorry i didn't see that bit where you said you got renfunded
in that case i would toss them and leave it there.

I would contact them and tell them the brushes arrived but are not what you ordered.
Tell them you are happy with the refund.
Do not offer to return them.
You are obviously not happy to just toss or keep or you would not be procrastinating.
