The fact that he's holding a stick should be a big red flag. Here's how it's done:

No that is how the Indians do it. This guy seems to have powers. He walks out with a stick not connected to anything and the carpet is just carpet on the stage. If he is doing the same trick it is good though.

I don't want to know how it's done.

I thought the whole performance was great. Thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

As you rightly indicate UFO a trick, and no "powers". Houdini had a similar stage trick many years ago.

From an engineering/science approach, the performer's C of G must be above a point on the ground, under the carpet) and connected to that point by a supporting  cantilever design in the form of a hinged body frame support which slots  into the "stick" which then fits into a retractable/hinged support mechanism, probably within the stick body and then via a suitable plate beneath the carpet.

The principles are basic,  the engineering interesting, and the performance excellent.

Did you notice (and commented upon) the awkward walk off the stage afterwards. I suggest the body frame restricting free movement.

This guy was walking fairly slow as if he had a disability, both entering and leaving so he must have been hiding something under there. The judge even asked him if he was alright - when they told him to start his act he quickly got down to the carpet on his knees and that was fast! The meditation act was all part of making you believe he somehow got off the ground by concentrating. Looked convincing anyways.
