Members of Sydney's Muslim community have set up a $1 million television studio to counter the mainstream media's treatment of Islam in Australia.
From its base in western Sydney, the One Path Network films and edits videos for its YouTube channel, including interviews with local sheikhs about Islamic teachings and current affairs.
Mr Majanni said the studio was funded by community donations and staffed by a team of more than 20 volunteers.
A range of prominent Muslims including the grand mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, and Associate Professor Mohamad Abdalla from Griffith University have endorsed the project, appearing in a promotional video.
Supporters include a range of Muslim clerics from moderate to conservative.
Known as a dawah initiative, the studio aims to spread the word of Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
Funded by Community Donations? A large part of that community is on some sort of Government benefit!

I agree.
Qantas wasn't doing so well financially either, and the CEO still got $m's in salary and bonus.
I guess people here know more about running big companies/corporations than the appointed CEO's.
Some new CEO's are brought into try and pull a company back from the brink of collapse. They get paid high salaries to do so.

they're not my stats
i dont have as much free time as you seem to;
i'm sure you can do your own research.
i'll be back later to see if you found anything to
disprove the claim in the OP.
am*3 - the stats are relevant because they are
similar (you could help debra with the research)

If 5000 people donate $200 - there you have $1m total donations. 470,000+ Muslims in Australia

Stats also shows Spain's unemployement rate in excess of 23%,so it must be the same here.
Good point.
Has Spain's unemployment rate gone down a lot, it was 50% not that long ago?. At least Spain's unemployed (and those from other EU countries, can move to other EU countries or UK and look for work. Start off in cleaning jobs till they learn English good enough to move on to a cafe/restaraunt job, study if that is their aim, with income from their job to support themselves.

You made the claim, you provide the stats. If you are familiar enough with them to mention them, you must be able to find them quick enough to post.
They are not directly relevant to the OP's claim... other countries in EU don't have the same economy etc as Australia, nor the same Govt benefit structure.
Australian statistics are needed.
I have no intention of doing research with anyone. If I mention statistics I post the link to them at the same time. Simple.

At the moment they are not anybody's stats, because nobody has seen them. I would actually be very surprised if any stats exist in Australia showing unemployment rates by religion. Do we know whtat the unemployment rate is for Jews, Budhists, or Atheists?

It is the OP that needs to prove her claim/accusation in the opening post. Until then, the claim is just rumour.
$1m is not a lot of money to raise in a community of near 500 000 people. Only reason to make that comment is to show anti-Muslim sentiments.
