Why can't people do their jobs properly? It must be so disappointing and frustrating when you hire someone in good faith and they stuff things up. GRRRR
Thunderstorms around 5.30am, frantic dog who managed to cut her foot on something and I feel exhausted before my day even got started. Time formore coffee....
16 days...

Blue, that thunderstorm early this morning woke up everyone here except me
they can't beleive I slept through it , lol
I hope so Bushies, years ago we put in a complaint to the Building Commission & we found them to be pretty useless. Then we found out the company we were complaining about was owned by a member of the building commission's board
nice seat, what a bargain, that will come up nice with a coat of white paint

Cool and windy here with light drizzle at times, weird weather atm
Debra Is the Vic Building Authority the same organisation? The building inspector was telling me that he has heard that Consumer Affairs are going and this organisation will be taking over. But who know when this will happen.
One of my neighbours works for a Vic government IT place. He was told the government were selling it to a private organisation and he would lose his job in 12 months time. Now there has been a change in government, he has been informed that it may not now be sold. Poor bloke doesnt know what to think atm.
Did you finally get your problem sorted out Debra?

we dealt with them around 10 years ago, so I'm not familiar with how they operate or what they call themselves now.
no, we wern't satisied with the outcome, they protected the builder of the shonky comapn but I hope it's different now as that board member was eventually kicked out for being shonky ( but his building company is still operating)

They may have changed names Debra, I will ask the building inspector next time I speak with him. With so many shoky tradies around these days, it's no wonder people choose to do their own renos

Freddie, do you have Home Assist where you live? They have a list of tradespeople who they recommend for older people.
I have used a few of them and most were excellent. And they do not try to rip people off, because they will lose their reputation with Home Assist.
I had a plumber (from their list) who put a new vanity unit in, and it was not level. I got him back, but the next morning it fell off the wall. I cut my losses and got another plumber who was wonderful.
I wrote a letter to Home Assist, giving a grade to each tradesman. I told them about that plumber, they were very grateful to get the feedback. I bet he has been banished from their recommended list.
By the way, some services from Home Assist are free, apart from materials used. For example, a handyman will fix something free of charge if he doesn't need to supply anything.

Good morning! Freddie, perhaps he didn't put silicone around the shower screen where it meets the floor tiles? That may have been one of the jobs he didn't do when he packed up and left.
