morning everyone ![]()
I'm heading out for a bit this morning but I think I might attempt some more wardrobe clearing out this afternoon. Thunderstorms forecast for today so that means we'll have a sooky cat.
Last night i couldn't find Bandit anywhere in the house and I know he finds odd places to sleep, si I didn't worry too much about it. This morning when I opened the back door, he was sitting on the step waiting for me. So, much to my horror, I realized someone must've let him out and he stayed out all night. ![]()
I wonder what he got up to, not mischief I hope. I've checked the garden for evidence of any bad deeds. Our ringtail possums are the worry of my life, I always make sure I have the cats in before they come out at night, but I think all is well

I'll have to keep an eye on the weather so that I can sedate the dog before the thunderstorm hits. Deb, we have one less ringtail here. The other night, I saw movement in the tree out the front - like a limb falling- so I went out to check and found that a ringtail had fallen. It made ot to safety and I checked the ground for any babies but didn't find any. Unfortunately, one of my bengals did. She managed to escape from the enclosure and made her way to the frontyard where she found, and caught, a baby ringtail. She took it straight to the front door, I grabbed her tail with one hand and scruffed her with the other so that she'd drop it, which she did. It had grown out of that rusty brown stage and looked like a miniature adult ringtail so was still quite young. A male. Fortunately, she had killed him straight away and not played with him. Bengals are like that, apparently. I felt, and still feel, angry with myself about that.

yes, it's very upsetting when that happens Blue, because our two are ex ferals, ringtails they see as fair game. A couple of years ago Bandit caught 2 little ones , I managed to get him away from them but they still died of shock. Apparently cat saliva is toxic to them. I am still upset about it really and I'm really strict about the cats being indoors
I've seen one of my ringtails in it's bed this morning, will check later to make sure the 2nd one is there too. Unfortunately Bandit is a real hunter

I wish that everyone was strict about containing their cats. The neighbourhood cats have always liked coming here and I regularly find them sleeping in the shade.

Bushies I think we do have laws, or maybe it's just some council laws. Ours are fairly strict here
