I think he would aggravate me too, his arguments are illogical.
What he finds attractive or not attractive is fine. Everyone has their preferences. Look at that Rod Stewart guy, did he ever even date anyone with brown hair, let alone brown skin. Blondes were his type, obviously. So your BF's preferences are not racist.
However, for him to say that a white guy who wasn't attracted to black girsl was racist... that is illogical & smacks of racism to me. The idea he has that black people can never be racist is.. racist.
Racism to me is discriminating in some way about something purely on the colour of someone's skin or their race. That's what he's doing when he won't accord the same rights to other men as he gives to himself... totally based on their colour.
