UFO, it is to late for me to read it all tonight, so I will respond tomorrow, but this is only a small ammount of planets that really are in the unfathonable universe we earthlings still have to encounter.

We are just a colony of ants in the universe.

That's right. We are only a small dot. The universe is so big and it is growing all the time.

Fantastic thread thank you ufo, I'll be watching with great interest.  Astronomy in general and the exploration of as much of the universe as possible is something I love to learn about.   Thank goodness for Kepler and Hubble technology xx

http://phys.org/news/2014-02-galaxy-clusters-billion-years-earth.html

Four new galaxy clusters discovered 10 billion light years from Earth

What I want to know is, if these galaxies are 10 bilion light years away, i.e. it takes 10 billion years of travelling through space at the speed of light for the light they emit to reach us. How do we know they are actually there and didn't burn out millions of years ago?
