Going on my personal experience....over 14 years ago and I doubt very much that pollie traits have changed, on corresponding with over 120 State and Federal pollies and meeting with quite a few on a serious matter.....my opinion of them, by their 'actions' was that 3 really cared. A whole 3.
I agree with am3 that the majority are there to feather their nests.
IMO most are good actors, many are eloquent liars and promise the Earth one day and will swear the next day that they promised nothing...... and the ones that go far in 'Pollie World' have a lot of money and connections with similarly minded people of same 'calibre' (YUK! calibre) and are prepared to sell their Grandmothers. Honestly!
There are some that are good, decent people. Most of these are 'kept down' and out of the real action.
