At least 1500 people are dead after an earthquake in Nepal with many Australians among the missing. The earthquake also triggered an avalanche at Everest base camp, which resulted in the death of 13 people. A dreadful situation with fatalaties occuring in 4 countries - Nepal, Tibet, India and Bangladesh.

Another 7+ earthquake yesterday which was not needed.
A person I know who flies helicopters in Nepal has had a very busy (and not pleasant) few weeks and has been posting
photos of the devastation both from the ground and from the air. A real tragedy.
One thing this disaster has highlighted again is it's all well and good getting the aid into a country
but more emphasis needs to be placed on providing methods of getting it around. Even the NGO's
have admitted they are better at Wholesale than retail of aid.

On top of that, just before the quake hit, he got a severe case of altitude sickness (pulmonary edema) with an infection on top of it
from going up and down in height so often so was RS for a couple of weeks.
