OMG!
This morning on Mix 106 Yumi and Sami replayed and interview the did with Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashians younger sister. They slipped a question in about Kim saying she'd EAT HER OWN PLACENTA.
GAAACK!
Who needs to hear about that first thing in the morning!
Then they went on to say after the next song they were going to call a woman who had done JUST THAT!
WHAAAAT?
What is it with these two? I know Yumi revels in talking about labour and childbirth. OK! But on breakfast radio? NOOOOO!
I was out of there back on to classic hits Jonesy and Amanda!

I'm with you icy, puke but it's very important to my friends so I respect that. Glad it didn't get served though! Meep I can't even look at your recipe without gagging? I have a very weak stomach!

Roast Placenta
1-3lb fresh placenta (must be no more than 3 days old)

1 sleeve saltine crackers
1 tspn bay leaves
1 tspn black pepper
1 tspn white pepper
1 clove garlic (roasted and minced)
Method
(Preheat oven to 350 degrees)
1. Chop the onion and the pepper & crush the saltines into crumbs.
2. Combine the placenta, onion, pepper, saltines, bay leaves, white and black pepper, garlic and tomato sauce.
3. Place in a loaf pan, cover then bake for one and a half hours, occasionally pouring off excess liquid.

My dogs never get depressed after giving birth.

Apparently, some believe it prevents postpartum depression....
Perhaps after it's dawned on you that you have just done the most ridiculous thing in the whole universe, you spend the next year laughing at your own stupidity.
And as laughter is the best medicine, voila!, depression cured!

Apparently it tastes like chicken.
Anyway - at the bottom of this article there is a video of a woman cooking up a storm with her placenta. ]:)

That is one link I won't be clicking on to, thanks Ms Martini!
I get the reasoning behind it, it's probably packed with nutrients.
But AAACK GAAACK!
I wish I could find five hurly-faces for a five hurly-face award!
I wonder what topic the pair of them will come up this morning. Probably some bodily function or another, but their favourite is always labour and childbirth in minute detail.

Reminds me of when my last baby was born. My OH went home after the birth, and my mum (mother of 10) asked him if he would like Lambs Fry for dinner. She was an evil woman sometimes :^O :^O
