Investigators are hoping that new information will help solve the mystery of what happened to Madeleine McCann.
The then- three-year-old British girl disappeared six years ago while vacationing with her family in Portugal.
Scotland Yard is planning to release a computerized sketch of a possible person of interest in the case.
Former prosecutor Wendy Murphy joined America’s News Headquarters to discuss the development.
"I’m not buying it. I think this is more PR than anything," Murphy said. "I think this is all related to a civil suit now underway in Portugal."
The McCanns sued the former police chief for defamation because he wrote a tell-all book.
Alisyn pointed out that the McCanns claim the Portuguese police never took the case seriously

Nothing to do with bias?
The dogs are not 100% accurate all the time. Used as a guide only. Other scientific evidence needed.
Portugal had this Officer in charge of the investigation:
Gonçalo Amaral
The Portuguese investigation also came under scrutiny because of the officer in charge from May until October 2007, Gonçalo Amaral, head of the regional Polícia Judiciária. He was convicted of perjury in May 2009 for having falsified documents in the Cipriano case, and received an 18-month suspended sentence.
In October 2007, after Amaral told a Portuguese newspaper that the British police were only pursuing leads helpful to the McCanns, he was removed from Madeleine's case and his post.

As it happened, they ( Kate & Gerry) were not prosecuted because in Portugal, the offence of child neglect requires "intent to harm" and there was clearly none.

.these dogs and their Police handler were part of the British Police force. If people don't wish to discedit the British Police Force they would not discredit them would they ?
But as I understand it, it is the British Police Force itself that has discounted their 'findings'. Are you suggesting they have some ulterior motive?
And I am still waiting to be told what ALL the other possibilities are that the McCanns apparently dont want explored.

Why is that conclusion being questioned and by whom? Who are they questioning... the British Police?
The final proof of the dog's success is the discovery of forensic evidence. Although there was much media speculation and many false stories about the forensic evidence in the Madeleine McCann case, the final and official conclusion was that there was nothing to suggest that Madeleine McCann had died in Praia da Luz or that her parents had harmed her. The fact that stories to the contrary were in circulation at all was a crime in itself.

Has anyone got the book Madeleine by Kate McCann?
Is this found On pages 249-250 or not ?
“The dogs ultimately ‘alerted’. I felt myself starting to relax a little. This was not what I would call an exact science”. Dr Kate McCann is clearly querying Mr Grimes’ expertise.

imo we have been around full circle on every point/myth/theory.. no more to add from me.
I like to think there is some hope Madeleine is still alive. If not ,I hope her parents do find out what happened to her and get the closure they would need. If there is an unknown abductor found, shame on the people that spread lies about the McCanns on the internet via blogs.

Kate McCann's attack on 'lies' over drugs found in Maddie flat KATE McCANN has responded angrily to attacks against her and her husband by Spanish television producers over drugs found after the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine.
In a new epilogue for the paperback edition of her book, Madeleine, Kate reveals that drugs filmed being removed from the apartment they were renting in Portugal were actually Parkinson’s drugs to treat her father Brian, who has the illness, and not sedatives.
She said she and Gerry were confronted by a “propaganda” film just before giving an interview during a Spanish television programme.
They sat in stunned silence as “damning images” gathered from the media and Portuguese files were displayed on a big screen. The shots included barking dogs trained to find dead bodies, books, documents and medicines taken from the villa they had rented in Praia da Luz after the disappearance of their daughter from apartment 5a of the Ocean Club. Kate writes: “The commentary presented these ‘exhibits’ as fact, as evidence of guilt.
“One of the books was a novel Gerry had taken to Portugal as holiday reading, The Interpretation Of Murder, a best-selling historical crime thriller inspired by a visit made to New York by Sigmund Freud in 1909, presumably singled out for no other reason than its sinister title.
“The tablets shown were actually my father’s Parkinson’s disease medication, as was confirmed by the patient’s name on the packets, conveniently out of shot, and not, as the voiceover suggested, sedatives that we had administered to our children.
The couple told well-wishers in their village of Rothley, Leicestershire, they now had “the bestchance” of finding Madeleine.
Gerry addressed crowds who had gathered to support the family and pray for Madeleine on the fifth anniversary of her disappearance. He said: “We are very positive.
“There is information, coming directly from us, and there is real, new information. New leads are coming to light. The Metropolitan Police are determined to get to the bottom of this .
