More world reality.

The video tape below shows Russian Navy commandos on a Somalian pirate ship shortly after the pirates had captured a Russian oil tanker.
The Euro Union navy that patrols these waters would not interfere because they feared there could be casualties.
So the Russian Navy Commandos freed their compatriots and the tanker, and then moved the pirates back to their own pirate ship. The Russians searched the pirate ship for weapons and explosives, and found plenty! And then they left the ship and exploded it with all remaining pirates hand-cuffed to it.
Yes, the commandos sank the pirate ship along with the pirates and without any court proceedings, lawyers, etc. They used the anti-piracy laws of the 18th and 19th centuries where the captain of the rescuing ship has the right to decide what to do with the pirates. Usually, they were hanged.

The video in the link is a year old and the incident from 2009. This one...https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BH5FhA-b-cE
Using the direct link you can read the comments. The poster of the video claims the were hand cuffed the to the boat before it was blown up. Reading the comments (far down) say differently.

"The Admiral Panteleev (destroyer) captured Tuesday at 2.12pm (local time) a boat carrying pirates. In total, 29 people were arrested," the ministry said in a statement.
"Seven Kalashnikov machine-guns, handguns of different calibres, equipment including satellite navigation devices and a large number of empty shells were discovered on board the boat," the ministry said, adding that an investigation has been opened.
The question of where any eventual trial for the 29 might take place will also come to the fore.
Trials relating to a spiralling upsurge in pirate attacks in the region over the last year are largely being hosted by Kenya, following agreements with the European Union, the United States and Britain.

The spiel in the opening post relates to a Russian oil tanker, the pirates took control over it, the Russians regained control over it.
That occured in 2010?

Right. A tanker.
From another source...2009.
A Russian destroyer has captured a boat containing 29 suspected Somali pirates. The group is thought to have carried out two attacks on a Russian tanker on Tuesday, April 28, but was repelled by the crew.

The part in the op about weapons etc, matches the 2009 one. The part about not gaining control of the ship doesn't match the 2009 one.
Either way, it doesn't appear to be accurate.

Its confusing. If you c&p the content from the op in google search, you find references to this:

The youtube video makes a reference to Adm Panteleev (sic) is the same video used in the OP.

A Russian warship captured a suspected pirate vessel with 29 people on board off the coast of Somalia, Russian news agencies reported on Wednesday, citing defense ministry sources.
Russia's Admiral Panteleyev anti-submarine ship seized the vessel 15 miles off the coast of Somalia at 1212 GMT on Tuesday, the Interfax and RIA Novosti news agencies reported.
"Seven Kalashnikov rifles, various pistols and an aluminum ladder were discovered during a search of the ship," RIA Novosti quoted the source as saying. Satellite navigation equipment and a large amount of ammunition was also seized.
"This allows us to assume that this group of pirates undertook two unsuccessful attempts to seize the TF Commander tanker with a Russian crew that was traveling through this region yesterday," RIA quoted the source as saying.

2009 - pirates captured by Russian destroyer Admial Panteleyev
The Iranian embassy in Moscow has said that a Russian warship has freed eight Iranian citizens who had been seized last week along with Somali pirates.
The Iranians had been held captive for almost three months by Somali pirates when the Russian destroyer Admiral Panteleyev captured the seized vessel with 29 suspected Somali pirates last week.
The Iranians, along with Pakistani fishermen, were detained with the suspected pirates. A Russian navy spokesman confirmed that the Iranian citizens had been freed.
The Iranian embassy praised the Russian navy for the rescue.
“As a result of the actions of the Russian warship eight Iranian citizens were able to be freed, who were in pirate captivity for more than 80 days,” said the Iranian embassy.
Meanwhile, the difficulty arises of where to try the captured pirates – in Russia or in one of the Gulf of Aden littoral states?
On Monday Russian President Dmitry Medvedev instructed Prosecutor General Yury Chaika to negotiate with foreign colleagues on how to prosecute pirates, including a plan to form an international criminal court, Interfax news agency says..

The "opening post spiel" is a C&P from the video within the OP's link. You can't see it because the link is embedded. The link I posted as a direct link (the same video) you can read the comments C&Ped....written by the poster of the video (not the writter of the article or the poster of the op), and worded incorrectly.
The incident was 2009, the tankers crew repelled the pirates which the Russian captain later caught.
One incident, 2009. I don't see any reference anywhere to the same captain sinking pirate ships in 2010.

It is not your info I am doubting, jimmy.
The cut and paste spiel reposted in the opening post , lacks details (year, name of Russian tanker etc ), is misleading and inaccurate.
Especially this bit: And then they left the ship and exploded it with all remaining pirates hand-cuffed to it.
