 Channel Nine axe The Footy Show after 24 years on air

Channel Nine is set to axe the Logie-award winning The Footy Show after 24 years on-air with founding host Paul Vautin told he will not be part of a revamped program on Thursday nights.

Fairfax Media can reveal Footy Show executive producer Glenn Pallister this week told Vautin, who is holidaying in the US, that the long-running program would make way for a new one-hour program headed by co-host Erin Molan.

Ok I never used to watch it that much, but it was a Thursday night fixture.

I really like Erin Molan, but can she carry it?

reminds me of the axing of hey hey its saturday.

there we were hoping after a short break they would wake up and put it back on, but no.

now we have no decent home grown mindless evening entertainment show for local bands and comediens to go on.

just mindless reality shows, scott cam is neither entertaining or funny.

I don't mind Scott Cam, but I'm tired of the endless home reno shows.
