yes he did, I thought I heard it wrong but no. No other PM has ever (to my knowledge) ever suggested that Australia start aggression towards any country let alone our closest neighbours. If this is his first day and he is so "gun ho" with his statements what can we expect next, very foolish and inflammatory Mr Rudd.

Well, the only way to send the boats back would be for our navy to escort them into Indonesia's territorial waters, which would be an aggressive act and Indonesians would have perfect right to shoot at them.  Encroaching on their sovereignty  would certainly strain the relationship.  And do not forget that population of Indonesia is some 250 millions.  🙂
