Happens a lot Crystal.

The movie Sister Act is almost a scene for scene rip-off of the 1930's Mae West film, "Klondlike Annie" which I find humorous as there were lawsuits by writers after Sister Act came out, claiming the story had been stolen from them. The only one who should have been suing was Mae West who came up with the idea and wrote all the dialogue.

Any time you watch an old movie you can recognise modern movies because Hollywood has run out of ideas. A Jeanne Craine movie called "Dangerous Crossing" or "Dangerous Passage" deals with a woman's husband who goes missing on a cruise and yet everyone around her claims she never had a husband on board- sound familiar? Check out "Flight Plan" with Jodie Foster. The Jeanne Craine film also stole the idea from an earlier film, and on it goes.

Proof please?

Tim was an "intellectually challenged" young man.  Apart from the fact that both men were younger, I don't see any similarity in the plots.

I agree with post 3...no similarities other than the older woman/younger man.

You do know that Tim is based on a book by Colleen McCollough which was written in 1974.

I saw similarities... difference was the intellectual impairment of Tim.....Colleen may have gotten her inspiration from that movie.

Movie and book plots are constantly leapfrogging off each other.
