Old Chinwag Craft Board Block Swap 2007

Sometime in early 2007, the Craft Board quilters got together and organised a Block Swap. We had to design and prepare enough blocks to make a quilt for ourselves, provide the first block completed and send the package on to the other crafty people in the swap.
We each completed a block in everyone's set.
My quilt was for my grandsons' bedroom in my home. I set a theme of teddy bears and boy's toys.
Most of these quilts have been finished for some time....... but.... I could not make a decision on how to do mine until recently.
I learned so much in that year and can't thank everyone who was involved enough! My applique skills are much improved.
So, thank you ♥

I have also sewn the labels of the blockmakers onto the back of the quilt, behind the relevant blocks.
I made mine into a quillow, a quilt that folds into a pillow, so one of the blocks is on the back of the quilt and when folded into it, becomes a pillow.
My 3 yo grandaughter looked at it and said "Gran, that is brilliant" and that is a good recommendation, so I have to thank everyone who was involved.

haha good one LTS, was around, butk didn't see that one coming.

Hexagons can be fun, except when you have half of them done and discover you have given youngest the rest of the material:O

poor Miss Linda!
I am not liking french braid strip making........:| very repetitious and I can't handle random. Now looking for a block I can use in place of one strip.

I do like this one though, maybe I should have done a controlled one instead of random?

It is great that we are all so different ....While I love the quilt pic that Azure has just posted it is way too controlled for me I love random and patchy I always think of the braid as being like hair all the different shades coming through in random ways.

the contolled one is gorgeous but i would probably never attempt it of keep it for myself. Now I am off to 2 huge great 90 litre tubs of strips sot start constructing my spider webs...gosh that would probably cause Az to have a meltdown.

OMG, misslinda - did you do that??!:O Darn...

Well, at this stage I'm thinking of just doing them over a period of time, using scraps of fabrics that will look good, just as something to do with my scraps. I am a scrap-hoarder, so I know I will have a good stream of them over time to make hexy's from.

azure - the quilt is another stunner from your hands... will you be selling it, or is it a keeper? Love the bright colours.

Oh, ok... how did you get on with the problem you were having last week? If I remember correctly, relating to finding a centre point for a block?

I decided it was easier to do an offset strip, one side wider than the other. I am pleased with it but not the random colours? Pic maybe tomorrow, busy week with littlies coming up, revolving door and bed week at nana's house....so, I want to get it done today.
