On The First Date, Would You...

...let the guy pay for dinner or do you insist on paying your own?

This came up for discussion in yesterday's breakfast show.

Sami believes the guy should pay on the first date, its a chivalrous gesture.

Yumi says absolutely not, it's sexist, old-fashioned and old.

any of you lovely ladies free for dinner tonight?

i'm payin

how about fish n chips?

In all seriousness, sometimes fish n chips could easily topped the $30-40  pretentious stingy fancy **bleep** they serve out in restaurants.

Or go to the right restaurant and you could find yourself paying $30-40 for fish and chips

Whenever I go to a decent restaurant and see fish and chips around the $30 mark. I always think to myself, no **bleep** ing way I'm paying that much for that. I can get 5 star fish n chips around the corner for $8. Who **bleep** ing goes to a pricey restaurant to eat fish and chips. I took  a chick out last week. Best food, great atmosphere 4 dishes. $45 for 2 . I bought a bottle of wine from a couple doors down since they didn't serve alcohol. you'll eat well when you go out with me.

Most men in my circles earn more than me, but that's not the point. Of course I could pay for my own meal. But if a man asks me on a dinner or lunch date and pays the bill it makes me fees special and cared about.

My men friends would be horrified to let the girl pay for her own meal on a first date

So do you go on many dates without your OH?

From what you write you appear to have rather an active dating life outside of your primary relationship.

My sarasm monitor has gone off the scale.

If you get the chance, buy some Spangled Emperor.  It was so beautiful.  $42/kilo but you won't get it in the local fish and chippie.

On The First Date, Would You...

It's been a while .If my OH and I go out ...it doesn't matter as it's OUR money .We don't do his/her money ..we are a couple.

In my past ...I didn't mind paying my share and/or paying for both of us especially if I knew that the man was doing it tougher than myself financially .My offer  to pay/contribute wasn't always taken up though . I felt better about doing that than thinking that the date may mean the bloke didn't eat very well for a period of time.
