I have to admit I don't watch commercial TV or any Tv for that matter. So if I have time, I usually flick between ABC or SBS.
I started with 7.30 which is always good. Then Foreign Correspondent which had an excellent expose as usual. Then the magnificent Mr Keating. Then At The Movies. And now having a laugh with Jennifer Byrne and her gaggle of writers.
I so get my money's worth.

The only TV i watch is the ABC.

The auction room show on old radios turned into a comedy last night......Richo.

I agree with you Martini.
Commercial tv is geared to the lowest common denominator.....and does it well.
In addition to the ABC programs , their journalism is without peer. The finest journalists and interviewers on tv.
Journalists who do their homework on an issue and are informed.
eg. Kerry interviewing Keating just this week.
They expose important issues that commercial tv don't really want to touch. ie. live animal export just for one.
They do their research.......remember the Rainbow Warrior? 4 Corners did what Interpol couldn't.
Yes, I love my ABC......even Media Watch when they do a job on the ABC itself without fear of retribution..
I also watch SBS which run some good informative programs too..

Be careful, Freshwater. In a previous thread I stated that the ABC programmed for the top 11% of the population, which is a fact. This statistic was determined 50 years ago from consumer research.
Someone didn't like this information and had the post removed.
Will they do the same with your statement about commercial TV? (although is is also a fact).
