my pet hates in over used words
heading up the top of my list is
journey - chronically overused, think talent shows and fake acceptance speeches
like - current habit seems to be to answer a question using this word at the beginning of the sentence, think talent shows or 2 bit celebs
apropos - habitually used by those who try to sound intelectual or politically savvy
what are words that you feel are overused to the point of cliche, or just plain old tired

I knew someone once who used to use the word literally a lot and it was always out of context.

What annoys me more than over use of words is when words are used out of context to make them sound intelligent, but it just ends up making them look stupidd..
I'm really getting sick of the word "gorgeous" every time someone comments on a pic of a baby/dog/cat etc it's "gorgeous" or "just gorgeous"
I also think that smiley face on Facebook sometimes comes off as condescending..
