Pandemic over soon ...

with another day another 30,000+ cases within NSW the pandemic will surely end soon as they run out of the unvaccinated or will Camberra run out of unvaccinated first ?

Fortunately the South Africans were correct in evaluating Omicron as being highly infectious but relatively mild - almost effectively the fourth vaccine for those fated to contract

Yes, rogespeed is  very good participant and full of knowledge and IMO he does have a much better handle on this situation. He is without influence or agenda. I've always enjoyed his participation.

Clearly you haven't read some of his posts on other threads, or you were wearing blinkers at the time.

He has posted many outrageous and clearly incorrect theories, and has been rightly ridiculed over them.

Comparison and analogy are normality with any discussion debate. We don't confine ourselves to a tube when discussing an issue such as this which has many aspects and factors of contribution.  The perception  of what may be the end of a pandemic or what defines one as such are subject to many different things and of which agenda and who benefits are among those things. To get a better perspective we often have to use comparisons and analogies. Public speakers do this often.

Reply, himm. Hello padi*0409.  I have found rogespeed's posts to be both refreshing and informative.  He is a researcher. Whilst not being sanctioned by the "propped up" mainstream media, his info comes from an alternative source on a occasion. The alternative source(s) are often highly respected by academics and people who are held in the highest esteem in the scientific and medical community. Those who do not hop and skip when Bill Gate or Faucci whistle are accorded the greatest of respect. You just don't get to hear about this in the mainstream.

If you see promoting conspiracy theorists and peddling misinformation acceptable, fair enough.

I and many others do not.

Well, padi*0409, you're an intelligent fellow. Surely you would see that sometimes the only way important info can come to people is via the alternative media. The analogy I used with the Iraq war and the reasons behind it ( meaning "Weapons of Mass Destruction" ) was also to highlight that fact that main stream media can swear black and blue something is true, but in reality it can just be a fallacy.

Were not early advancements in medicine once deemed to be conspiracy theory? How are they viewed nowadays? The same for technology and science? I believe back in the 1800s, and later, pioneering doctors and scientists were ridiculed by the mainstream. But nowadays they are presented as iconic!

What rogespeed presents to us is something that can broaden our perspective at the very least and often the info, as was his first mention of Dr. Peter McCullough and the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine an important window to true medicine being practiced. You and I may disagree on this part but HCQ is being used to save lives.

Rebranding?

McCullough has also come under fire for promoting the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. A group of clinicians from Doctors for America, a nonprofit physician organization, wrote in the Dallas Morning News last December that they were "deeply concerned after hearing the baseless, misleading commentary" from McCullough, in which he promoted the use of the antimalarial drug for early outpatient COVID-19 care. Randomized controlled trials have repeatedly shown that hydroxychloroquine is not effective to treat or prevent COVID-19, the physicians said.

Misleading - misinformation - and - downright dangerous.

Not ever done before - but anymore and the R button will get a workout.

I am perfectly willing to read what roger or anyone else has to say, but I am going to be honest here, sometimes I find Roger's posts hard going. I am talking about the actual structure of his sentences, rather than his ideas.

I taught in primary schools for years. I have no trouble wading through pages of text without paragraphs, with incorrect spelling, missing verbs etc. Roger is not like that, but sometimes his posts are a challenge.

As for the pandemic, it will be over when things settle down and when one day, we look back and realise we haven't thought much about covid for a few weeks and although it is still out there, it is no longer dropping people like flies all around us and work and retail and hospitals are all operating relatively normally.
